Call for abstracts

Abstract submissions Are closed.

The ISSCR welcomed abstract submissions from scientists, physicians, and researchers in all sectors, including academia, industry, government, and education. We do not accept advertisements of commercial products or services or clinical case studies.

Oral and Poster Abstract Submissions closed on 21 February 2024. Late-breaking Abstract Submissions closed on 3 April 2024.

  • Submit from 18 October 2023 through 21 February 2024 to be considered for an eight (8) minute presentation during a during track (concurrent) session. Abstract-selected speakers must attend ISSCR 2024 in-person. Oral submissions not accepted for an oral presentation are automatically considered for a poster presentation. Oral abstract submissions from ISSCR Student or Post-doc members are eligible for Travel and Merit Awards. 

  • Submit from 18 October 2023 through 21 February 2024 and your research will be considered for the presentation of a poster. Poster presenters must attend ISSCR 2024 in -person.  Poster abstracts submitted by ISSCR Student or Post-doc members by 21 February 2024 are eligible for Travel and Merit Awards. 

  • Submit from 28 February 2024 through 3 April 2024 to be considered for poster presentations only. Poster presentations Are in-person only. Late-breaking abstract submissions are not eligible for Travel & Merit Awards.

Requirements

  • All abstract submissions are screened by the Program Committee to ensure that they meet the following standards. Abstracts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected. Submitted abstracts must adhere to the following: 

    • Include substantial experimental, calculated, or theoretical results.

    • Must include substantive results, whether experimental, calculated, or theoretical.

    • Clinical case studies will not be considered.

    • Abstracts of commercial products must include experimentally derived quantitative data.

    • Adhere to the principles in the ISSCR Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation.

    • Results are the work of the listed author(s).

    • Adhere to Abstract Submission Agreement

  • By submitting an abstract to be considered for the ISSCR Annual Meeting, the individual agrees to:

    • Adhere to deadlines for submission and acceptance.

    • Register to attend the meeting if accepted.

    • If you are submitting this abstract on behalf of another presenter, be certain the presenter understands they must be registered for in-person attendance by 12 April 2023 and adhere to the deadlines outlined below.

    • Pay abstract submission fee (separate from registration fee).

Deadlines and Fees

Abstracts for Oral and Poster | $75  

There is a non-refundable $75.00 USD abstract submission fee for each abstract submitted.  

The following key dates and deadlines apply to both oral and poster abstracts submitted between 18 October and 21 February 2024 and need to be followed closely. Abstracts submitted by 21 February are also eligible for Travel and Merit Awards. 

  • 18 October 2023 and 21 February 2024 | Abstract submission open.

    5 April 2024 | Presentation notifications are sent. If your organization or email program blocks the notification email and you do not receive it, please contact abstracts@isscr.org to inquire about the abstract.

    24 April 2024 | Oral presenters must accept and register.

    24 April 2024 | Poster presenters must accept and register.

    9 May 2024 | Any changes to the abstract's presenting author need to be completed by this date. The new presenter must be a co-author on the submitted abstract and must be a registered attendee.

    15 May 2024 | Last day a presenting author can notify abstracts@isscr.org to withdraw an abstract from the program.

    17 May 2024 5 PM EDT | Poster numbers are emailed.

Late-Breaking Abstracts (Poster Only) | $110

Late-Breaking Abstracts are those that are submitted between 28 February and 3 April 2024. They are only considered for posters and are not eligible for Travel or Merit Awards.

  • 28 February to 3 April 2024 | Late-breaking abstract submission open.

    24 April 2024 | Presentation notifications are sent. If your organization or email program blocks the notification email and you do not receive it, please contact abstracts@isscr.org to inquire about your abstract.

    9 May 2024 | Late-breaking poster presenters must accept and register.

    9 May 2024 | Any changes to the abstract's presenting author need to be completed by this date. The new presenter must be a co-author on the submitted abstract and must be a registered attendee.

    15 May 2024 | Presenting authors must notify abstracts@isscr.org to withdraw their Late-Breaking abstracts from the program.

    17 May 2024 5 PM EDT | Poster numbers are sent.
